MASSAGING YOUR DENTS

GONE ARE THE DAYS WHERE YOU’D ‘BANG ‘EM OUT’

The collision repair industry’s former best kept secret—paintless dent repair, or PDR. Does your shop understand the concept? Are you losing business to someone who does? For customers, the prospect of a noninvasive, same-day job that pulls all those small, pesky dents from your car, often for much less money than a standard collision repair job, is justifiably attractive.

It is true, the collision repair industry has been somewhat slow to adopt the relatively new method of dent repair, however, PDR is quickly becoming one of the most soughtafter repair services for customers and those shops without at least a few tricks up their sleeve could be missing out.

What used to be somewhat of a niche add-on service is now a fixture in many collision repair technician programs across the country and quickly becoming a norm at the repair facilities they end up in.

Repair facilities in Western Canada would do well to bear this fact in mind, as the Prairies more than pull their weight in the frequency of hail storms compared to the rest of the country, and the ability to fix those dents immediately after that damage occurs will put your shop on the fast-track to become a community favourite.

Even the most basic of PDR product setups will elevate your business and its processes before you even realize. Your painters will be able to open time to work on more intensive projects, instead of being occupied with many small refinishing jobs that could be eliminated entirely through PDR.

Where previously a vehicle could sit in a repair bay for a week waiting for the different stages of the repair process to be completed; with PDR, customers typically see their keys back in their pocket within a couple of hours.

Some use magnets, some use heat, but none of the products ahead will require you to crack open a paint can, we promise.
